Call for Projects
In Memory of Francesco Leto
PhD researcher who included Skopje as a case study in his doctoral research
This Call for Projects aims to foster a critical reflection on architectural thinking and its modes of representation, in memory of Francesco Leto, who tragically passed away in July 2024.
Francesco Leto’s professional and academic achievement offers a unique methodological approach that bridges theory and practice in architecture and urban design. His visionary research emphasized not only spatial and design thinking but also the delicate and profound use of photography as a medium to explore the relationship between physical space and its visual representation.
Students, PhD candidates, and young architects are invited to submit photo, design, sketh inspired by three central themes from Leto’s work:
• Time
• Movement
• Perception of the Body in Space
This initiative is organized by the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria and supported by the Faculty of Architecture – Skopje, “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje. It represents a symbolic continuation of Francesco Leto’s passion for architecture as a discipline that thinks, feels, and imagines space.
Deadline: 30 April 2025
